Information Session
Staff will receive an email communication to attend an Information Session in August 2023 to learn more about the Staff Mentoring Program.
Eligibility
IU Indianapolis full-time staff from all schools/units and all ranks are eligible to apply as mentees or mentors. The mentors will be from a diverse range of ranks and roles. Peer to peer mentoring will be allowed.
Mentees must complete the IU Indianapolis Staff Mentoring Program application and discuss the time commitment with their supervisor.

Mentors must be full-time staff with at least two (2) years of work experience at IU Indianapolis.
Project Requirements
The program will be one calendar year in duration. During the one calendar year period of the program, the mentor is expected to spend at least 25 hours with the mentee. Mentees and Mentors will submit a separate final report.
Post Acceptance Requirements
- Mentees and mentors are required to attend an initial onboarding/orientation in October 2023, a mid-program meeting in April 2024 and an end-of-program meeting in September 2024.
- Mentees are required to submit an Individual Development Plan (IDP). The mentee and mentor will agree on the goals to be realized during the program year in support of the mentee’s IDP. (Optional- mentors may create and submit their IDP)
- Separate final reports must be submitted via email to stmentor@iupui.edu within 10 days prior to the end-of-program meeting by mentees and mentors. It must describe the mentorship experience, the specific impact of this experience on the mentee’s professional development and advancement, and highlight key outcomes.
- The mentees and mentors will receive a certificate for completing the program once the reports have been reviewed and accepted by the Staff Mentoring Program Advisory Board.
